Something Borrowed Blooms is a premium wedding flower rental company that’s served more than 40,000 customers over the past 10 years. Over time, a major inventory bug emerged on their website that allowed customers to book flowers that weren’t actually in stock. To keep their promises to customers, Something Borrowed Blooms was forced to purchase duplicate inventory and manually work around the issue. That’s when their marketing partner, ThreeSixtyEight, brought us in to take over the codebase.

PartnersThreeSixtyEightThe Plan
The site ran on an outdated version of SmartStore, even though the build itself was less than a year old. The code was heavily customized and documentation was minimal. So before we touched the inventory bug or anything else, we slowed down to understand what we had inherited. On a codebase like this, one rushed fix could break three other things we hadn't seen yet.
The Work
// Pixel perfection, alwaysWe built a ramp-up plan based on the access we had and the lack of documentation we inherited. The first move was a structured discovery: infrastructure review, code review, and a series of Q&A sessions with the previous development team to pull whatever institutional knowledge we could. Milestones were defined up front, starting with clean manual deployments across every environment and working forward from there.
Once the codebase was stable in our hands, we maintained and tweaked the features that were already in place, including troubleshooting and updating the FedEx shipping integration, built new features, and when something touched their other technical vendors, we helped coordinate those conversations. The inventory bug was the hard one, and we said so going in. In a codebase wired together like this, it took testing, patience, and us staying available whenever the team needed us.
The Partnership
That is where the partnership mattered most. What Something Borrowed Blooms got was a technical team that answered quickly, learned a complicated business, and worked carefully inside a system nobody had fully mapped. We filled the engineering gap they'd been missing, and we stayed collaborative and responsive the whole way through. That let Something Borrowed Blooms get back to running their business, while ThreeSixtyEight strengthened their relationship with the client. The next time one of their clients lands in a messy technical situation, ThreeSixtyEight already knows the development team they can call.
